The EPPO and EU law Jean Monnet Module has been presented to the community of the European anti-fraud agencies!
On 28 and 29 March 2023, Arturo Iadecola and Giancarlo Astegiano, respectively Chair and Member of the Judicial Bodies Subcommittee of the Module, took part, as representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office at the Corte dei conti, in the 32nd meeting of the OAFCN (OLAF Anti-Fraud Communicators’ Network),which took place in Brussels in the premises of the European Commission.
In the three sessions of the meeting, which was attended by managers and officials of the EU Institutions, as well as prosecutors and representatives of tax agencies and police forces from almost all EU Member States, topics of central importance were discussed in the framework for the proper management of European resources. In addition to the disbursements envisaged by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, particular attention was paid to the risk of fraud in the implementation of support measures for Ukraine.
Arturo and Giancarlo, besides illustrating the results of the anti-fraud activity of the Prosecution Offices at the Corte dei conti, introduced the audience to the EPPO and EU law Program and to the Case-law data base, which collects the most important decisions of National and Foreign Courts in the field of fraud and misuse of EU funds.
