Today’s lecture will be delivered by Enrico Traversa, a qualified lawyer, former Director of the Justice Team of the Legal Service of the EU Commission, and currently an adjunct professor of EU law at the University of Bologna. The lecture will explore critical aspects such as applicable law, judicial remedies, and cross-border cases, with particular attention to the first judgment delivered by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on a preliminary ruling in case G.K. and Others.

This discussion will highlight the challenges that arise from balancing the centralized investigative system of the EPPO and the diverse legal frameworks of the Member States. These differences in procedural systems often raise concerns about safeguarding suspects’ fundamental rights and resolving jurisdictional conflicts..

With his vast expertise, Professor Traversa will provide an in-depth analysis of the issues surrounding the EPPO Regulation and the broader challenges of judicial cooperation in the EU.

The lecture will take place at 16:30 in Room U6-05 at the University of Milano-Bicocca and will also be available online. You can find the link to join the session at https://www.steppo-eulaw.com/.
